The Southwest Zone of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on the Academics Staff Union of Universities to call off the strike and resume work after the Court of Appeal’s ruling.
In a statement signed by the Coordinator of NANS Southwest Zone D, Stephen Tegbe, the students advised ASUU to obey the Ruling by the Court of Appeal by resuming work while the negotiation is still ongoing.
The Coordinator said the incessant ASUU strike and the insistence of the federal government to yield to their demands has been a setback to the education sector which has in turn marred the growth of the sector.
According to him, the inability of both parties to reach a compromise has tortured 3 million Nigerian students and rendered them paying for the unmindful sins of bad governance.
Stephen described the ruling by the Court of Appeal that ASUU should resume while negotiation with the federal government is ongoing, as relief and therapy to the dying dreams of many Nigerian students.
