On Thursday, January 25th, 2024 Dr. (Engr) Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul, The Rector of the great Citadel of learning, Yaba College of Technology got dressed as the Grand Patron of the Institution Cadet Corps of Nigeria, Alpha Company.
In attendance of the event were Cadet Staff Advisers; Few to mention are, The Battalion Commander (CDT COL. Akeredolu), CDT LT. COL Anion Anyafulu, Alumni of the Cadet Corps and other cadet personnel.
After the Dressing of the Rector was done in his office, a guard of honor was presented to him by Cadets who are also students of Yabatech offering different disciplines ranging from Engineering to Social Sciences and Management courses.
Information gathered by Schools Update shows that the Cadets have been a very key and active role players in the field of security and conflict control within the college premises for over 70 years and have always maintained discipline and peace.
INTRODUCTION:
The Institution Cadet Corps of Nigeria, ICCON was established in 1948 as National Cadet Force which was later renamed to Nigerian Army Cadet Corps, years later the Corps took into the Academic system which provided an Avenue for students of higher institutions in Nigeria to take part in Military training and Drills.
The Institution has graduated over 5000+ students from the corps as well as their civil education in the higher institutions.
The institution’s headquarter is located at Yabatech called Alpha Company!

HOW TO GET STARTED
The Application form is not available online for now, interested Candidates are to go along with the required documents physically to the CADET ARMORY in Yaba College of Technology to get the Screening form.
TO JOIN:
Bring your required documents (A proof of being a student of Yabatech and Two passport photograph) to the Cadet Office, Opposite Bakassi!
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Proof of being a student of Yabatech (School fees Receipt/Admission letter/ Acceptance fee receipt…)
2. Two Passport Photograph
3. Must be Mental and Medically fit
4. Must be free from any criminal charges or allegations
